Q. What is a TriGrandPrix Experience?

A. A TriGrandPrix Experience is a Triathlon celebration in which Professional Triathletes, Age Group Triathletes, First Time Triathletes, family, friends and celebrities find the right event/distance to have fun and spend a Triathlon weekend together.  Entrants must be 16 years of age or over on the date of the triathlon. Athlete Care is the number one priority.

Mathias Hecht, Professional Triathlete, defines it as folows:
There are so many events around the globe now that, it’s not easy to choose the right ones. I think TriGrandPrix is different, as it gives you a special Experience, kind of like in the old days of our sport. Unique courses and a friendly organisation team that take care of the Athletes. Q. Where does the TriGrandPrix Experience take place?
TriGrandPrix Ireland, the Kilkenny Triathlon Saturday, July 22nd 2017

Q. Do I need to qualify to enter any of the TriGrandPrix experiences?
A. No, Professional Triathletes, Age Group Triathletes, First Time Triathletes, family, friends and celebrities do not need to qualify. Just visit www.trigrandprix.com and sign up for the experience.

Q. Do I need to have a Triathlon license to compete in a TriGrandPrix experience?
A. A license is NOT required to take part in TriGrandPrix Ireland, the Kilkenny Triathlon 2017.

Q. How does the registration process work?

Enter a valid email and a password.
Enter your personal information.
Select the event you wish to participate in.
Make the payment.
Receive your confirmation email.

Q. What payment options are available?
A. We currently accept Visa Credit, Visa Debit, MasterCard Credit, MasterCard Debit, American Express.

Q. If I get injured or I cannot go to the race, do I get my money back?
A. A 50% refund will apply to entrants who cancel two months in advance of the Experience. No refund can be offered to entrants who cancel within two months of the Experience.

Q. What is the Experience timetable?
A. The Experience timetable for Kilkenny Triathlon will be available on www.trigrandprix.com a few weeks prior to the race. Please check back regularly for updates.

Q. Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
A. Yes, wetsuits are required.

Q. Is the swim downstream or upstream?
A. The Olympic Distance swim is up and downstream.  Both the Sprint and ChooseToTri events are downstream. There will be lots of paddle boards, kayaks and motorized craft in the water in case of any problems.

Q. Are there prizes for the winners?
A. Yes, TriGrandPrix is all about participation not competition.
However there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for male and female in the Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint events; and a prize for 1st team in the Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint events.

Additionally, we will have ten spot prizes. Six of these will be for the closest male and female guesstimate to their swim time in each of the three events – anyone can win!!!  The other 4 will be random spot prizes raffled at the Après Party.  To enter a guess for your swim time now, simply estimate your swim time for your event and enter it in a  comment below,  How long will it take you to swim the 1,500m Olympic distance swim, the 750m Sprint swim, or the 250m Super Sprint swim???  To improve your chances, tag your friends to encourage them to enter a guess on your behalf by writing your name and their guess for your time.  We’ll allow three guesses per person.
