So, what’s the fastest growing international Triathlon Series in the world currently? By our reckoning, it must be TriGrandPrix (www.TriGrandPrix.com). They have grown from two Triathlon Experiences in 2011 to SIX in 2011. We hear they have plans to grow to an incredible 40 Experiences all over the world by 2014!

What has been their secret sauce?

The prize money on offer is certainly very attractive – over Euro 100,000 for the 2011 Championship. The pro Athletes that come and race in their events are also a big draw. Last year Mirinda Carfrae, Leanda Cave, Cat Morrison, Edith Niederfriniger, Eneko Llanos, Fraser Cartmell, Mathias Hecht, Marcel Zamora, Joel Jameson, Timo Bracht and many more that raced in the 2010 TriGrandPrix Championship rave about the iconic race locations.

Maybe that’s it – maybe it’s the iconic locations!

TriGrandPrix UK is hosted at Emberton Park in partnership with Big Cow Events – the international participants plan to race on the weekend and spend s few days in London après-tri.

TriGrandPrix Basque Country, the Zarautz Triathlon is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and is held on the most beautiful Basque Coast

TriGrandPrix Navarra is taking place at Aritzaleku Lake near Pamplona and only three days before the famous running of the bulls!

TriGrandPrix Ireland is hosted by Kilkenny Castle, one of the top five most visited attractions in Ireland

TriGrandPrix Valencia has the cycle route include the Formula One arena!

TriGrandPrix France is being run in Ciboure within a few miles of Biarritz and St. Jean de Luz along the iconic French Pyrenees coastline

The team at TriGrandPrix has done an amazing job marketing the sport; see for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W55pWal8Ark. This has also won them plaudits from the general triathlon community and maybe is part of the driver for growth also?

If you think it was any of the above, think again. The overwhelming feedback we have received is that these guys are simply serious about Athlete Care. Professional Athletes, Age Group Athletes and especially First Time Triathletes feel like they really matter. The races are well organized, safe, fun and the athletes come first. Not so complicated, but perhaps that’s the genius of TriGrandPrix?

Why don’t you decide for yourself and participate in any of the six 2011 Championship Experiences? There are events designed for first time Triathletes at each Experience. Relay options for those who are not yet confident in all aspects of the sport – there are even fun events for Kids. Check www.trigrandprix.com and take advantage of the early bird discounts available until March 1st!
